Too often we let our ego get in the way. We pretend we are okay when we are not. We pretend we are not hurt and bothered by someone else’s words, actions or behavior or even their impression of us. The harsh reality though is, when we suppress the hurt and pain, the situation gets worse. Eventually, we experience anger, anxiety, depression, conflicts, broken relationships, poor work performance, arguments, and the list goes on. Don’t deny those feelings and let the hurt grow, talk about it. As the saying goes “Shame dies when stories are told in safe places”.
